# llimphi-glifos > **Glyph coverage atlas** โ€” what the GPU-direct path was missing in order to paint text. `llimphi_raster::GpuBatch` knows how to emit hundreds of thousands of rects, discs, lines and triangles in one draw call per kind. What it does not know is what shape an "a" has: the instanced batcher speaks quads, not outlines. That is why the direct path was filed as "no text" in `PLAN-MOTOR-PROFUNDO.md` ยง4a โ€” and it was that initiative's last real gap. It rasterises each glyph **once** into an 8-bit coverage map, packs it into a texture by shelves, and returns the UV rect plus the placement. --- Part of **llimphi** โ€” see [llimphi](../README.md) and the widget/module catalogue in [`MANUAL.md`](../MANUAL.md).
